Introduction
We invite individuals, non-governmental organizations and institutes to join the COMBE movement and sign the COMBE statement.
Ideas and theories in the field of basic needs, hunger and extreme poverty have been scholarly discussed for decades and decades. Respective ethic principles have been laid down in documents, declarations, manifestos, constitutions. These ideas and theories have not yet reached reality.
Now, for the first time in history, the political and economic world is in a position to shape conditions of life so that the basic needs of all humans are met.
It is the challenge for the civil society to force theory to become reality and create a shift in priorities. One thing is very clear: Unless extreme poverty and starvation are defeated, precious values such as peace and human rights will remain dreams.
If we all join together in a transnational, transcontinental coalition and if we together design information campaigns and nonviolent actions to achieve the end of extreme poverty, we will establish a basis for further development.
If you want to discuss the matter of basic needs and the abolishment of hunger and extreme poverty with competent and dedicated people, if you want to plan creative nonviolent actions and take part in them, or if you just want to be informed about them, please join our movement.
Everybody who is dedicated to nonviolence and who wants to help abolishing extreme poverty and starvation is most welcome.
