This site contains information on basic needs and obstacles to meeting basic needs. However, our emphasis is on ways to implement a basic needs approach. The tasks we face are large, and coordinated action is necessary.
Globalization in its present form and structure signifies power and growing wealth for the few, whereas millions of children, women and men are doomed to live in extreme poverty. Governments have failed so far to put an end to hunger and extreme poverty continuing amidst a world of affluence.
COMBE believes in the strength of an emerging global civil society, which will be able to reshape the world according to the needs of the many.
The goal of eradicating hunger and extreme poverty will only be realized by fundamental structural change. COMBE strives to establish a global transnational web of organizations and individuals sharing this conviction and working for this goal.
